本片描述兩位主角，肋骨（Ripo）和保羅（Paulo），透過國際手語（Gestuno）溝通，並共同面對普世的生存議題。劇情分為三個部分：創世紀、存在與末世論，主要場景設定在巴黎聖路易島。故事開始，年輕的肋骨和保羅分享著深刻的親密關係。隨著時間推移，他們逐漸感受到外部世界的壓力與焦慮，政治的喧囂與現實的混亂開始侵入他們的生活。步入晚年，保羅和肋骨在面對死亡的時刻，彼此慰藉，一起反思有關生命的感悟。
