From 2020 to 2021, over the course of a year, we filmed eight Taiwanese photography creators: Yang Shun-Fa, Hung Cheng-Jen, Chiu Kuo-Chun, Chen Po-I, Hsu Chen-Tang, Wu Cheng-Chang, Lee Li-Chung, and Peng I-Hang. These artists live in different parts of Taiwan, including Taipei, Taichung, Changhua, Tainan, and Kaohsiung. Through the lens, we witnessed how they find inspiration in everyday life, how they seek balance in their creative process, and how they pursue photography as a lifelong journey. The completion of this documentary marks the beginning of building a Taiwanese photography archive. Through the stories of these photographers, we hope to let more people see the energy of Taiwanese creators and discover another perspective of Taiwan—its subtler, more intimate layers—revealing a place that is diverse and full of stories.
