Good Times, Bad Times, Lazy Times
In an age of endless watching, how do we deal with distraction overload? Too exhausted after work? These films are short enough not to test your patience. Some are early works by acclaimed directors; all are sharp, rich, and full of surprises. Fine, I admit it—I also put them here simply because I love them. They’ll leave you wanting to hit replay. You may need to be jolted by them one more time before you’re ready to move on.
Between virtuality and reality
In 2019, the impact of COVID-19 fueled a surge in virtual concepts, sparking waves of discussion around the metaverse and beyond. But is technological advancement truly humanity's only path forward? When the physical body is no longer essential, where do we go from here? The balance between the virtual and the real is a question the entire world must confront—together.
The Isolated Island Connecting Reality and Virtuality
Contemporary humans coexist with technology, increasingly relying on digital platforms to forge relationships, yet feeling an ever-growing sense of distant connection. From seeking solace in dating apps to performing identities on social media, we seem to be drifting in virtual worlds. This curated selection of five works explores intimate relationships in the digital age, gazing at the ways connections have been rewritten by technology, or perhaps the genuine desires left adrift in the virtual seams. In this generation of accelerated connections, everyone is like an island floating in the digital ocean, awaiting a real touch.
