沈蕊蘭的短片《列車消失的那天不會更長也不會更短》，這部只有不到七分鐘的實驗記錄短片，如今已有了《列車消失的那天》的75分鐘版本紀錄長片。這個計畫的起點是導演的一位朋友當時正要出家，她用影像紀錄她的觀察與兩人生命和生活曾有過的交會，儘管後來的長片版本或可對此一發想有更周延的描述，但在此一短片中，作者亦掌握了整個計畫最核心的「流動」概念。
