This is an animated short film about saying goodbye. The story was inspired by imagining children leaving for various reasons and what they might want to say to their mothers. This led to the idea of whether they are somewhere in the world, experiencing and observing it in their way.
Before growing into towering trees, these tender sprouts begin to emerge everywhere. On city cliffs, by a girl’s window, and within the unnoticed cracks at street corners, they quietly take root and grow. Through diverse mediums and audiovisual languages, emerging animators from Taiwan and Hong Kong create stories that are subtle yet powerful — sometimes sharp, sometimes understated. Within these works, we catch glimpses of fleeting moments of creative spark.
