《人生的縫隙》像是一本日記，紀錄著主角嘉源與血癌對抗的過程，以及對於未來的想望。或許是太年輕就在面對生與死的拉鋸戰，嘉源不像一般的年輕人，儘管有參加學測的壓力，但更多的是對生命的體悟，珍惜現下擁有的一切，同時思考著沉重的死亡議題。沒有淚水，沒有哀嘆老天的不公平，只有邁開步伐前行的奮戰身影，簡單的紀錄片，卻有一股純粹的生命力量。
跟著嘉源抗病的這段日子，我膽戰心驚地接收每一個治療的新進度，梳理這個複雜個案的故事，一直到紀錄片和報導刊出後，我才鬆下工作的那部分，讓感覺重新以迴力鏢的狀態打回我身上，並被嘉源的堅強和勇敢啟發。真的很謝謝嘉源沒有放棄且願意分享他的故事。也謝謝他讓我被那個「想做的事不要等」的氣場震懾，重新反思了生命的意義和排序。最後也好謝謝那張由不同專業人士編織而成的安全網，接住了他，讓他有機會重新從凍結的生病時空裡破出和重啟。希望此後的嘉源，可以健康、平安地活，愈來愈有力氣完成所有他想做的事。
為了讓自己「活下去」，嘉源抗癌之路從社會面到醫療面的多重難題，在台灣幾乎前所未見。他是第一個尋求政府「家庭暴力暨性侵害防治中心」兒童保護機制，為自己爭取就醫權的未成年少年；也是幾經波折，等到台灣第一批健保給付昂貴免疫細胞新藥CAR-T（Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell Therapy，嵌合抗原受體T細胞療法）的血癌個案。抗癌已3年的他，每一個環節，除了考驗他自身的勇氣，更考驗醫療與國家體系支持的強韌性，以及社會對於「兒少最佳權益」的思維與理解。 歡迎閱讀專題報導，更深入地認識嘉源的故事：https://kids.twreporter.org/topic/children-with-leukemia
