Directed by 鄭巧筠
The film is created using traditional stop-motion animation, challenging the use of hemp rope as the primary material for the puppets. With frame-by-frame manual shooting, paired with carefully designed sound effects and lighting, the rope puppets—lacking facial expressions—are brought to life to evoke a haunting and unsettling atmosphere. The film begins and ends with a distinct hand-drawn style, forming a visual echo that unveils the mysterious tale. At the same time, it invites reflection on the delicate balance between humans and nature, and the reverence we should hold for the natural world.
