💡 Let every screening become a turning point for the fate of wildlife.
Nominated for Best Documentary Short at the Golden Horse Awards, Wild Road tells the story of Taiwan’s first wildlife hospital in the east—WildOne. It follows a group of dedicated individuals who, driven by love and conviction, work tirelessly to rescue and rehabilitate injured and ill animals. Undaunted by challenges, they are committed to returning these wounded lives to freedom. But in the face of harsh realities, love alone is not enough—they need more awareness, more support, more action.
Located in Chihshang, Taitung, WildOne is not only the first wildlife hospital in eastern Taiwan, but also one of the few wildlife rescue centers entirely initiated by civil society. Brought together by their love for animals, this team hopes to save as many wild lives as possible. But is it really that simple?
A barking deer hit by a car, a baby goat orphaned too soon, a pangolin awaiting release after an amputation, and a young swiftlet with nowhere to go—each has their own poignant story. Within these walls, there is the joy of saving lives, but also a constant shadow of loss.
Can we truly find a path to coexist with wildlife?
