整部電影不斷挑戰感官的視覺轟炸與時間線的混亂流動，仿若進入一場異次元的狂歡派對。

張晉瑋／朝向空無才能抵達的豐盈：湯淺政明與《心靈遊戲》的散文徵候 | Giloo紀實影音湯淺政明創立的動畫公司Science SARU（科學猴子）前後推出過眾多傑出的作品，包括《春宵苦短，少女前進吧！》、《宣告黎明的露之歌》（Lu Over the Wall，2017）、《乘浪之約》（Ride Your Wave，2019）等作。不過湯淺將辭去社長一職，由共同創辨人崔恩映接手，目前暫定退位時間為製作完《犬王》（INU-OH）後。
湯淺政明後續也影響了許多新生代的日本動畫導演，其中，在湯淺的《四疊半神話大系》（The Tatami Galaxy，2010）擔任分鏡、演出、原畫；《春宵苦短，少女前進吧！》（Night is Short, Walk On Girl，2017）擔任分鏡；以及未來將擔任《四疊半神話大系》衍生作品《四疊半時光機藍調》（四畳半タイムマシンブルース，時間未定）監督（本作雖非湯淺執導，但製作公司為湯淺創立的 Science SARU）的夏目真悟於去年夏季推出（擔任導演、原作、編劇）的驚人之作《漂流少年》（Sonny Boy，2021）也非常值得觀賞，目前於巴哈姆特動畫瘋、Myvideo等平台串流中。
本作音樂監督渡邊信一郎（Shinichirō Watanabe）除了在《心靈遊戲》與湯淺政明合作外，後來他們也在製作《心靈遊戲》的動畫公司 Studio 4°C 發行的《Genius Party》（2007）中一同出現，其中湯淺負責第六段「夢みるキカイ」，渡邊則負責第七段「BABY BLUE」。
片中其實並未直接交代人物關係，僅主角四人的背景資訊較為明顯（但鯨魚爺爺在片中只被稱為「jiisan」，也就是爺爺，並沒有名字）。而未直接闡明的人物關係可在首尾蒙太奇片段中推導而知，其中，鯨魚爺爺是黑幫眼鏡哥的父親、小妙的母親年輕時曾和幫派眼鏡哥有一段姻緣。
和渡邊信一郎的合作讓湯淺學習到許多關於配樂的技巧與心法，根據湯淺本人表示，這段經驗亦應用於2020年推出的電視動畫《別對映像研出手！》（Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!）。而這兩部除了有這樣的間接關係外，其實在《心靈遊戲》中一幕角色變形後乘著特殊飛行載具的畫面也與《別對映像研出手！》中天馬行空的各種想像物十分相似（當然，兩部作品皆為改編作品，並非湯淺自行創造的物件，但這不失為兩部作品的有趣關聯）。關於湯淺的說法，可見：https://www.mirrormedia.mg/story/20211028insight022/。
《心靈遊戲》初體驗成靈感 《別對映像研出手！》藏祕密花絮本文以湯淺首部動畫長片《心靈遊戲》（2004）為例，試圖將形式美學分析降至次要，著重檢視電影敘事的散文特質，並將其與散文敘事特質明顯、改編自文學家森見登美彥論著的《春宵苦短，少女前進吧！》與《四疊半神話大系》對照，提出分析湯淺作品的另種可能。

At the same time, its ever-shifting landscapes and unique geopolitical position have long subjected the island to waves of diverse cultural influences. As a result, the people of Taiwan have developed remarkable adaptability in sharing resources and integrating cultures, along with a high receptivity to external information. These vivid and agile characteristics are deeply embedded in Taiwan’s cultural DNA, shaping what we call its unique form of “elastic connectivity.” For the 2023 Taiwan Design Week, the Taiwan Design Research Institute collaborates with Giloo Documentary to present an online film program. Curated by Frank Huang, Cho-Hao Wu, and the curatorial team, the selection of films explores possibilities of departure and displacement within the tension between the virtual and the real. This program urges us to reflect on the essence of creation in an age defined by rapid consumption and AI-driven change, engaging with a contemporary world saturated in virtual fantasy through critical and poetic dialogue.

The Taipei Literature Festival presents a selection of 7 works, inviting you to freely roam and unearth the vibrant literary energy within visual storytelling.
