Some feelings can only be acted upon, never spoken. Some desires simmer like volcanoes, erupting into twisted yet pure magma of life. Some people, once in love, burn themselves alive like moths to a flame—madly in love, deeply in pain. Some love cold as death, where a near-death experience unlocks raw desire, revealing that what could kill you... may not be fatal at all. Giloo presents six brand-new XX films, inviting you to surrender your senses. Whether it’s the melancholy of animals after sex, or the liberation of desire through sex, they’re not the kind of XX films you think they are. You ask what XX means? You can do it—but you can’t say it.

Looking back on 2021—a year shaped by a disrupted daily rhythm, rising geopolitical tensions, and unforgettable moments on the Olympic stage—Giloo presents nine of the year’s most popular films. We hope each one leaves a lasting impression on your heart.
In times of turmoil, I find myself drawn to documentaries. There’s something profoundly moving in watching people carve out a sense of “home” amid chaos—guarding a fragment of peace and expanding the inner landscape of the heart. I’ve always loved the phrase “a heart set on distant meaning.” We are born into constraints and often stumble through thorns, but perhaps it’s precisely these entanglements that awaken our yearning for freedom and for becoming. With that in mind, I’ve selected three documentaries. Some feature lives caught in inescapable webs; others portray souls that remain free, even when the body cannot move.
After smoking, drinking and spooning, watch these films together.
