Post-Psychedelic Diaries
Every frame alters the scent of "The Devouring Poem." Through cinema, we trace the softest parts of our bodies, striving toward ideals—yet those bound by reality need a hallucinatory state to truly “see” the world. The deepest voices that follow are the poems we use to disguise rebellion with obedience, and the selves who are lost within the work. Through subtle dialogues between text and film, we place the purest version of ourselves on the table. On Giloo, we've curated six films that span themes of coming-of-age, love and being loved, taboo, life and death, and the psychedelic. Sometimes what seems real is deceitfully present; sometimes deception hurts only seven days later.

Those irreversible slices of life
Recently, in a novel I've come to love, I found myself grasping the weight of life's slices. In the story, there is a wicked sorcerer who freezes people in the instant just before tragedy strikes—suspending everything, sealing it into a crystal ball, and building an entire museum from these frozen moments. And isn't film, in its own way, just as cruel? As viewers, we are little more than instruments for collecting tissue slices—slipping into a character's world for a single fleeting moment, wandering through it in passing, only to return, in the blink of an eye, to the reality that is our own.
